Year 9 Digital Resource List – Apps and Novels
Year 9 students can purchase digital resources from two possible places depending on their choice of device for the BYOD program.
- The App Store and iBook Store for Apple Devices
- App Shop or Microsoft Store or Chrome Store or Google Play for MacBooks and Windows devices
1. Apple App Store – iPads, 2026 list
Year 9 students who are continuing to use their iPads from Middle School are encouraged to keep the Essential & Subject Apps listed below. These are core apps that will be used across a range of subjects.
Please note:
- The Microsoft 365 suite has replaced a number of apps from 2023.
- MyConnect provides easy access to digital textbooks from Campion and online resources from publishers.
Year 9 Essential Apps List (Students are encouraged to keep these apps from last year)
Year 9 Subject App List (Students will be instructed to install these apps by the subject teacher, as required)
NAPLAN lockdown browser (iPads users require this app for NAPLAN online testing, iPadOS 16 or later)
iPad Minis (all models) and Apple Pencil are not supported.
Year 9 Novels
Students can obtain a digital version of this book for use of their iPads. Check the Campion booklist for more details.

2. BYOD: Windows laptops and MacBooks
Students with devices under our BYOD program, such as Windows laptops, and MacBook laptops are encouraged to utilise apps from the relevant app store and various online resources as indicated by their teachers.
It is particularly recommended that students get free access to Office 365 – Microsoft’s online version of Office.

NAPLAN Lockout browser for PC and Mac laptops
All Student devices (tablet, PC or Mac) will be required to use the NAPLAN test player locked down browser to undertake the test. iPad Minis (all models) and Apple Pencil are not supported.

The College email account is also a Microsoft account
Please note that all students have been provided with a Microsoft account which uses their College email address. New students will receive this information on their first day of school.
